I have the pleasure of presenting The Folklore Academy of St. Kitts and Nevis, a vibrant, passionate, creative organization founded by Shashi Wigley. The academy is a shining light is a federation that is fast forgetting its cultural roots and folklore. Having first been inspired to enter pageantry during the 2009 St. Kitts-Nevis National Carnival, Lanein is now an esteemed ambassador for the Fertile Isle of the Caribbean.
Her Early Years: It was the perfect morning on December 8th, 1986. The birds sang sweetly signalling the arrival of Lanein K. Blanchette, a special gift, born to Hilarene and Andy Blanchette. The first of three children, her upbringing was quite unique as she lived and played on Sugar Estates in St. Kitts.

Marcellina Ventura is graduate of the St. Croix Educational Complex class of 2008. She is currently a sophomore at the University of the Virgin Islands as a Criminal Justice major with a concentration in Forensic Science.
Marcellina has been dancing since the tender age of six and is currently a member of the Cruzan Dance Company under the guidance of Alexander E. Simon. “Dancing allows me to express the way I feel inside.” Member of the Strictly For Youths Organization under the Young Peoples Umbrella, Marcellina believes in the betterment of our youths and finding creative outlets to allow the young minds of the Virgin Islands to expand.
